Te Pā Harakeke o Te Awahou, is our on-site Māori medium Early Childhood Education (ECE) center - dedicated to revitalising te reo Māori me ōna tikanga within our community.
Te Pā Harakeke, offers a nurturing environment where tamariki, whānau, and the wider community can come together to learn and grow. The goal is to provide a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging, where they can develop the skills and knowledge needed to stand confidently in their identity. This is carried out by weaving whanaungatanga, te reo, whakapapa, wairuatanga, kotahitanga, ukaipōtanga, pūkengatanga, kaitiakitanga, rangatiratanga, and manaakitanga through every aspect of the center.
The relationship held between Foxton Primary School and Te Pā Harakeke allows for a seamless transition to enrol in our Rumaki Reo program. This natural progression enables tamariki to expand and develop their language and cultural skills. A collaborative transition enables tamariki to be nurtured into the next phase of their learning journey in a way that suits their needs.
We invite you to learn more about Te Pā Harakeke and consider this as your first stop for your early childhood needs here.
