WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT FOXTON PRIMARY SCHOOL:
RUMAKI / BILINGUAL UNIT:
We are the only Primary school offering Maori medium total immersion language option in Foxton and Levin. The Rumaki emphasises a love for learning in a whanau tautoko atmosphere, the outcome: Bilingual and bi-literate educated students who are high achievers.
Whanau Tautoko @ Foxton Primary School:
A parent-led group with community members and staff who meet regularly to discuss, plan and support school & community initiatives that promote Kaupapa Maori values, tikanga and ways of learning for all students at Foxton primary School.
KAPA HAKA:Students have been trained in the performing arts to a high standard, have grown in resilience, achieved high rankings in competitions and most importantly have improved in many areas of school and home life. Kapa Haka has been a strong feature of our school and through Whanau Tautoko we have been able to maintain support for tutors, uniforms, fundraising and noho.
